Svečano zatvaranje dvogodišnjeg EU projekta Smuggling Anthologies uz prezentaciju završne publikacije projekta Smuggling Anthologies Reader.

Projekt Antologije krijumčarenja odvijao se tijekom dvije godine (2013.-2015.) kao kombinacija izložbi, simpozija, istraživanja i pratećih programa. Održavao se sukcesivno, u Muzeju moderne i suvremene umjetnosti, Rijeka, Mestnom muzeju Idrija, i Trieste Contemporanea.

Četrdesetak umjetnika, povjesničara, etnologa i arhitekata bavilo se krijumčarenjem kao jednom od glavnih ekonomskih metoda preživljavanja u svijetu, s naglaskom na tradiciji ove nelegalne ekonomije na sjecištu mediteransko-alpske, slavenske i talijanske kulture.

Oslanjajući se na interdisciplinarni pristup temi, kroz tri bogato ilustrirana poglavlja, čitanka Antologije krijumčarenja predstavlja nekoliko temeljenih okosnica radova i teorijskih tekstova, uzimajući u obzir povijesni kontekst i pisane izvore, osobna svjedočanstva i umjetničku produkciju.

Knjigu će predstaviti glavna urednica publikacije, dr. sc. Ana Peraica, kustosice Sabina Salamon, Marija Terpin Mlinar, Giuliana Carbi, grafički dizajner publikacije Željko Serdarević te sudionici projekta, Anonymous i Can Sungu. Na predstavljanju će ujedno biti dodijeljena nagrada žirija za najbolji dokumentarni video projekta, a predstavljeni će biti i svi video radovi nastali u sklopu samog projekta.

Nakon predstavljanja publikacije pridružite nam se na druženju uz zakusku i izvedbu glazbenog performansa Marina Alvira.

Project Smuggling Anthologies, a combination of exhibitions, symposiums, researches and other accompanying programs, took place in Museum of Modern Art, Rijeka, Municipal Museum, Idrija and Trieste Contemporanea, Trieste and had lasted for two years (2013 – 2015).

Around forty artists, historians, ethnologists and architects engaged in the theme of smuggling, which is one of the main economic methods of survival in the world. Participants were focusing on the said illegal economy tradition on the Mediterranean-alpine crossroads between Slavic and Italian cultures.

Smuggling Anthologies Reader presents some of the basic works and theoretical texts, respecting historical context, personal testimonies, artistic production and interdisciplinary approach through three richly illustrated chapters.

Publication will be presented by editor in chief dr. sc Ana Peraica, curators Sabina Salamon, Marija Terpin Mlinar,  Giuliana Carbi, graphic designer of the publication Željko Serdarević and project participants Anonymous and Can Sungu.  Award for the best documentary film of the project will be awarded at the presentation with other documentary films made for the project presented also.

After the presentation, please join us for the musical perfomance by Marin Alvir with refreshments to follow.

Na izložbi u Trstu svojem radovima će se predstaviti slijedeći umjetnici:

Uz navedene umjetnike prikazivat će se i izbor video radova europskih umjetnika na temu krijumčarenja. Premjerno će se prikazati film Blue Black Jeans koji govori o velikom fenomenu kupovanja traperica u Trstu krajem šestdesetih i tijekom sedamdesetih godina. U to je vrijeme taj komad odjeće / simbol Zapada ilegalno prelazio željeznu zavjesu šireći se sve do Moskve i prijestolnice Pokreta nesvrstanih, Beograda.

The exhibition in Trieste will display the artworks of following artists

There will also be a selection of video art works produced by European artists on the contraband displayed. The new documentary film Blue Black Jeans will also be presented for the first time. Film refers to the huge phenomenon of trade in jeans that began in Trieste at the end of the Sixties and lasted through the Seventies.  At the time, this garment/emblem of the West was illegally entering and spreading behind the Iron Curtain as far as Moscow, or up to the Non-Aligned Movement leader city of Belgrade.

Događanja predstavljaju završni dio međunarodnog projekta Antologije krijumčarenja, dvogodišnjeg projekta u organizaciji Muzeja moderne i suvremene umjetnosti iz Rijeke (Hrvatska), Gradskog muzeja Idrija (Slovenija) te Galerije suvremene umjetnosti u Trstu (Italija). Projekt je sufinanciran od strane Kulturnih programa Europske unije.

Krijumčarenje se oduvijek nalazilo tik ispod površine administrativnih i političkih karti svijeta. Zempljopisno područje kojim se ovaj projekt bavi obuhvaća dijelove Istre, slovenske obale, trščanskog zaljeva te tzv. rapalske granice. Na to područje te granice na tom području su kroz stoljeca utjecali ratovi, promjene nastale raznim pograničnim dogovorima između zemalja te one kompleksnije promjene i odnosi karakteristični za taj kraj, more-kopno, Jugoslavija-Italija, socijalizam-kapitalizam.

The initiative is the concluding part of SMUGGLING ANTHOLOGIES, a two-year project conceived and organised by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka (Croatia), the Idrija Municipal Museum (Slovenia) and the Trieste Contemporanea Committee (Italy).
The project is realised with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union.

The theme of smuggling is always a subsurface part on the administrative and political maps of the planet, which change constantly.  The geographical area identified by the organizers of Rijeka, Idrija and Trieste for Smuggling Anthologies covers the areas of Istria, the so-called Rapallo border, the Slovenian coast, the Gulf of Trieste and the various borders therein in the twentieth century. The scenarios both of the national boundaries moved by the wars and of the changes which gradually occurred in customs agreements between countries, but especially those of the most complex relationships sea-continent, Yugoslavia and Italy, socialism-capitalism,  strongly influenced these lands.
